PRINCETON, N.J. – It’s Friday Night Lights for the Cornell football team when it hosts Harvard on national television on Friday, Oct. 11 at 6 p.m. on ESPNU. The game, from Schoellkopf Field, marks the third straight season and the seventh time since 2014 the matchup between the programs will be televised nationally. As part of its long-term partnership with ESPN, the Ivy League announced its six-game football package set to air on ESPN linear networks this upcoming season on Wednesday afternoon.

Nourzad Selected By Chiefs in 2024 Draft

DETROIT, Mich. — Pick number 159. Round 5. Selection 24. Former Big Red offensive lineman Hunter Nourzad is joining the Kansas City Chiefs after being selected in the 2024 NFL Draft. Nourzad becomes the first Big Red to be selected in the draft since 2013 when JC Tretter was picked 122nd overall by Green Bay.

ITHACA, N.Y. – With the 2024 NFL Draft kicking off this evening, Cornell alumnus Hunter Nourzad is preparing to hear his name called. The 2022 graduate of the Big Red was a former two-time All-America offensive lineman, earning a third-team offensive line nod in the 2020 season and a second-team look in the 2021 season, a year when he was the long Ivy Leaguer to make the list. Nourzad was named an All-Ivy first-teamer and the Ivy League Offensive Lineman of the Year by Phil Steele in his final season with the Big Red. Since graduating, the Marietta, Ga., native finished out his final two years of eligibility at Penn State, where he appeared in 24 games, including making 21 starts, most often at center. He helped the Nittany Lions to a 21-5 overall record including two New Year’s Six bowl game appearances.

Deumaga Named Football Operations and Content Coordinator

ITHACA, N.Y. — The Roger J. Weiss ’61 Head Coach of Cornell Football, Dan Swanstrom has announced the addition of Julien Deumaga to his staff. Deumaga, a graduate of Ithaca College who played under Swanstrom in 2021, joins the Cornell football staff as the team’s Football Operations and Content Coordinator.

ITHACA, N.Y. — Four Cornellians competed in the second annual Dream Japan Bowl this past weekend, led by Brown’s Head Coach James Perry. The journey across the globe included more than a football game for the delegation, as the group also got the opportunity to be a part of a few cultural experiences, including touring Kamakura, visiting the U.S. Embassy and Ministry of Foreign Affairs, riding on Japan’s Maglev train, and hosting a football clinic at a local school.

ITHACA, N.Y. – The Roger J. Weiss `61 Head Coach of Cornell Football, Dan Swanstrom, has added five new coaches to the staff as the team begins its preparations for spring ball. Though newcomers to the Big Red staff and Cornell community, Coach Swanstrom has recruited seasoned veterans with experience from many levels of the game, including across the FCS, the Ivy League, and Division II and III.

ITHACA, N.Y. – Dan Swanstrom, the architect of Ithaca College football’s recent resurgence and an impactful offensive coordinator in the Ivy League at the University of Pennsylvania, has been named The Roger J. Weiss ’61 Head Coach of Cornell Football by Dr. Nicki Moore, the Meakem Smith Director of Athletics and Physical Education. Swanstrom becomes the 28th head coach in school history.
